POPPY LINE MANDALA

Brian has been nagging me to make some textured backgrounds from plants for my flower images. So when I completed the mandala, I decided to give it a try. I had saved the background for last.
*******
I took a sprig of poppy foliage from one of my photos and cut and pasted it onto a new page. I then blew it up, duplicated, rotated and stretched until a pattern emerged. It formed an almost kaleidescopic image that is almost a piece of art in itself. I then applied some blur and darkened it so it wouldn't compete with the foreground.
*******
All that was an unexpected and total accident, so it inspired me to add the quote you see here.
*******
The mandala design is basically the same one I used for the Nightblooming Line Mandala-just tweeked a little bit.
*******
My thanks to Brian.
